If you haven't seen the new Star Trek film then I highly recommend it! Even my housemate who has never been 'Trekkie', really enjoyed it!

I thought it was pretty good. I like the JJ Abrams feel - which came across in the incidental music and some of the motifs - like the death of one person coinciding with the birth of another. That introductory sequence was great too, and I thought it was pretty funny. I like the alternative history angle too.
I just wonder what will happen to it next...? It would be a good TV series with those actors - who mostly come from TV anyway - but I guess they'll probably just make a couple more films - and the franchise will be left pretty much where it was before this one.
Yeah it worked really well, and the special effects were not too in your face to think they had modernised the classic star trek look too much.
They should probably just leave it alone as a prequel. Unlikely though. Leonard Nimroy narrating the classic, 'space, the final frontier...' was a nice touch at the end!
